People often misunderstood this passage - Matthew 7:4-5
It is not against about Christians (imperfect) cannot have critical thinking or to speak the truth.
Jesus told the parable to warn against the "self-righteousness" - the hypocrites group of people.
(It speaks about those who judge others because I am better than you are, my role and position is higher than you, etc. )
    1) Critical thinking is not necessary a Critical Spirit (if it is based on fact, education, or set of premises -to think in a deeper level or from different experiences. The goal is not to disagree, but to offer a different perspective.
    2) St. Paul pointed out to Peter in Antioch's gathering that Peter was acting inappropriately to separate himself (as a Jews) from sitting with the Gentile Christians. (In Christ, Jews and Gentile are no difference in spiritual standing ).
    --------------------
There are Scriptures that speaks about to Admonish One Another (among those who are In Christ ) & also those who do not believe in Jesus. (apologetic - defend for God's truth)
    -----------
    Final Thought:
It is fine to quote bible verse, but don't cherry-picking to use just one verse or one passage to fit the pigeonhole.
Look up what the rest of the Bible said about the topic, its context, biblical historical background, the cultures, and God's redemptive plan - primary : the doctrines of salvation and sanctification.

Yep - I agree with Paul Chang. So many times people use this to justify their sin.

There are many warning signs and symptoms: (partial list )
      1) Avoiding the truth - personal gain /self-protection
      2) Shunning (similar "disfellowship" in JW - Jehovah Witness organization)
      3) Spiritual Abuse (man's words vs. God's words )
      4) Misusing church roles authority
      5) Slandering / Gossiping / Causing divisions among the Body of Christ
      6) Over time, if not confront, everyone suffers.
      7) Lack of God's wisdom
James 3:17 The essence of God's wisdom
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all
      1) pure;
      2) peace-loving,
      3) considerate,
      4) submissive,
      5) full of mercy and good fruit,
      6) impartial and sincere.
