testing - entrapment
Good analogy - I was like a rabbit following your storytelling, which reminds me Jesus said about "entrapment" of the self - the snares (temptations) of the sinful nature & the freedom only found in Him.
Luke 4:18 The link has different Bible versions which Jesus said he set the captives free, blind to see.

Amplified version of the Bible verse Luke 4:18
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me (the Messiah), Because He (God - Heavenly Father ) has anointed Me (Jesus - the Messiah - the Savior ) for 4 major conditions:
1) Poor in Spirit - to preach the "good news" to the poor. (poor in lack of spiritual understanding/wisdom; the emptiness of the soul; the disconnection of God and His redemptive plan - God's mercy and grace shown at Jesus' cross)
2) Captive - He has sent Me to announce release (pardon, forgiveness) to the captives (sinfulness -- mental /physical symptoms as a results of sinful thoughts and behavior )
3) Spiritual Blindness - recovery of sight to the blind,
4) Oppressed (in the mind - the thinking process - the entrapment ) - To set free those who are oppressed (downtrodden, bruised, crushed by tragedy),
Because of causes of #1, #2, #3, the mental condition became #4 "oppressed" ( brokenness )
