Setting Boundaries:
How to set boundaries:
3 purposes of setting boundaries :
(depending the situation and who - how close you are relating to the other person )
1. To protect the other person
2. To protect yourself
3. To protect each other
Underlying reasons setting boundaries:
1. Expectation of the relationship
2. Advantages or Mutual Benefits
3. Avoidance of clashes (such as the double yellow lines on
the road)
(Example: "Don't go there " phrase often used)
4. Tolerance Level / Acceptance of the other person
To build the boundaries :
--------------------------------
> At home (immediate family / extended family
(such as in-laws, cousins)
> At work
> Friends and Acquaintance
> Social Media contacts
It is similar to the Southern Border
( United States President Trump's Wall )
Do we want to protect the people in the United States or to welcome more migrants from other parts of the countries who are seeking refuge and asylum (to escape from poverty and mistreatment , including brutality) ?
